Training in the real world

Is your dog experiencing life to the fullest?

Or are you still wishing for easier walks, a stronger connection and a life with your dog that's actually fun?

You don’t need more control - you need training that gets your dog.

I specialise in reactivity, structured socialisation and specialist dog sports for every breed. Whether your dog is reactive, over-aroused, under-confident, frustrated, intense, or just missing the right outlet, I use play-based training for sport, relationship and fulfilment to build something that works in real life.

I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs across well over 90 different breeds, so I know there isn’t one magic method that works for everyone. The key is finding what makes your dog tick, then using that to create training that actually makes sense.

This is training for dogs who don’t fit the mould - and owners who are done trying to make them.

Ditch the obedience class. Let’s get to work.

A WARM WELCOME FROM RYAN

Before you go any further, watch this.

Let's see if we're the perfect match.

What to expect on a Discovery Call:

  • A relaxed, friendly 30-minute chat about you, your dog, and what you’d like help with, whether that’s reactivity, socialisation, dog sports, or something else entirely.

  • No script and no awkward sales pitch (seriously, it's not my forte!). Just an honest conversation about where you’re at, what you’re hoping to achieve, and whether we’re the right fit.

Have a freebie on me!

You'll probably have read that I'm a "play-based trainer who specialises in fulfilment". But what exactly does that mean, and how can we apply it to training and living with our dogs?

Pop your email in on the right and you'll get my free Guide to Play-Based Training, as well as any important updates about our services, sports and programs. Win-win!

The link to download will pop up immediately. Easy to unsubscribe.

Three ways to train with me.

Whether it's dog reactivity, proper socialisation, or just having a blast with your dog - I've got something for you.

1-to-1 DOG TRAINING

The Supernova Program.

Tired of dreading walks, hiding behind cars, and bracing yourself every time someone shouts, “Don’t worry, they’re friendly”?

My Supernova Program is built for dogs who struggle with reactivity and social situations. In my 3-month program I come to you and train in the places where you actually need it: your streets, your local parks, and the environments your dog struggles with most. You’ll also get access to all my group walks, plus support between sessions, so you’re not left trying to figure it all out on your own.

Real change takes work. I’ll help you build the skills and confidence to get there.

DOG SPORTS

Dog Sports for All.

You've probably heard of Agility or Hoopers. I like my dog sports a little more niche.

Barn Hunt UK, GRC Dogsports, Lure Coursing and Mantrailing give dogs a proper outlet for the things they love to do: hunt, bite, chase and sniff. Whether your dog is working through behavioural challenges or you're both just bored of normal walks, I’ll help you find what makes them tick.

From private 1:1 sessions and fun group workshops to official trials, there are plenty of ways to get involved. The hardest decision is which to try first!

GROUP WALKS

Neutral & Social Walks.

Because I believe training shouldn't just be in a village hall.

My Neutral and Social Walks help you build confidence, clarity and control in situations that you'll experience daily: other dogs, public spaces, tricky greetings and unpredictable moments.

Whether your dog needs calm exposure, better social skills, or support working towards off-lead freedom, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you move forward with a community of people who just get it.

Proper training in the real world, the way it should be.

ABOUT

Hi, I'm Ryan - and my journey into dog training started with a dog who challenged everything I thought I knew.

Constellation Dog Training was built because of Obie, my German Shepherd.

Like a lot of people who bring home a working breed, I thought I was getting a dog for hikes, pub trips and adventures. What I actually got was a dog full of unmet needs and a lot of frustration. Obie taught me very quickly that good dogs aren’t created by obedience alone. They need clarity, fulfilment, confidence and appropriate outlets for what they were bred to do. That experience shaped everything I do now.

I specialise in dog sports, dog reactivity and socialisation across Staffordshire and Cheshire. I'm a play-based trainer, and my methods are built around helping dogs use their instincts well, rather than constantly fighting against them. Whether we’re working through reactivity, building confidence around other dogs, or finding the right sport for your dog, the goal is always the same: a happier, more fulfilled dog who can cope better with the world.

Now, Obie and my other dog Ophelia are a testament to my approach. They help me teach owners how dogs communicate, how to read behaviour, and how to build a relationship that actually works in real life. This isn’t just about teaching dogs to sit nicely. It’s about understanding what they need, what they’re built for, and how to help you and them have the best life possible together.

If your dog is reactive, 'too much', frustrated, anxious, hard to understand, or just needs more than a normal walk around the block, then you’re in safe hands with me.

I'm the trainer for you if..

  • You want training that’s fun, practical, and rooted in real life.

  • You want to ditch the quick fixes and do things differently.

  • You’re ready to work with your dog’s instincts, not against them.

  • You want a deeper connection, not just more control.

  • You're ready to learn, and committed to put the work in.

  • You’re looking for a trainer who gets it, because they’ve been there too.

  • You’re after a community that celebrates progress, not perfection.

If any of this sounds familiar, we could be a great match - let's have a chat!

Don't just take it from me..

Ever wished that you could actually just reach out to someone who's worked with the trainer you're looking at? Well you're in luck, because I've got some fabulous clients who have kindly offered to do just that! Drop them a message on Instagram to ask any questions about what working with me is actually like.
